This month is chocked full of things as hurricane season ends and there can actually start to be a flow to life down here. Not only are there plays happening, but the music scene is strong here in Charleston.
College of Charleston - ROUGH MAGIC and THE TEMPEST in REP.
The first Main Stage shows of the College of Charleston’s Theatre season finish their runs on October 7. Don’t miss either play!
SWEAT by Pure Theatre
As part of the MOJA Festival Pure Theatre is premiering Lynn Notage’s successful play. Having not seen anything by Pure Theatre yet we are excited to see this and celebrate the MOJA community. This is something you will definitely not want to miss! Performances Start the first weekend in October.
Kristin Chenowith at the Gailliard
Bret loves KC, being that he new her from his Oklahoma Days. Her talent onstage is unrivaled. You won’t want to miss this concert especially because Bret’s friend and music director Mary Mitchell Campbell allowed him to assemble a choir to back up Kristin. Tickets are this Saturday October 6, one night only!
The 39 Steps - Footlight Players
Last month our favorite performance was Lady Day at the Queen Street Playhouse, so we are looking forward to seeing this hilarious play, perfect for October. If you’ve never seen this play you are in for A LOT of laughs. Performances Start October 17 and runs for two weeks.
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD LIVE! - Woolfe Street Playhouse
We love this venue so much, and we love horror films, so we can’t wait to see what Village Rep. does with this production. It’s going to get everyone in the Halloween Spirit. Performances start mid October.
Of Mice and Men - Charleston Stage
Charleston Stage is doing a production of this classic American Play. Performances Begin the second week of October.
